Homebodii Bride of the Month: Tristen Paige Wilson Kemp

A little bit about me..

I’m a California native but call Dallas, Texas home. Keith and I met three years ago at a sushi restaurant on the 50th floor of a downtown skyscraper, and from the very beginning there was something incredibly grounding and special about our connection. We’ve always shared a love for meaningful experiences, beautiful details, and creating spaces that feel warm and intentional.

Our approach to planning the wedding was…

We wanted our wedding to feel intimate and deeply personal — like an Italian countryside soirée shared only with our closest friends and family. We leaned into timeless beauty, quiet luxury, and meaningful moments. More than anything, we wanted the day to feel like us. We envisioned guests feeling as though they had gathered at a dear friend’s villa: relaxed, emotional, beautiful, and full of connection. Every decision we made centered around creating heartfelt moments rather than following traditions simply because they were expected.

Looking back, we’re so glad that we…

Kept the wedding small and intentional. Because of that, we were truly able to be present with every single person who attended and, most importantly, with each other. Some of our favorite memories came from the simplest moments — passing the microphone around the dinner table to hear stories from loved ones, writing handwritten notes to every guest, lingering in conversations, laughing, crying, and soaking in every second together. We never felt rushed or pulled away from what mattered most. I was able to move through the entire day with warmth and ease, and somehow that feeling touched everything around me, the light, the room, the dinner, the people sitting closest. It all felt calm and deeply genuine.

The most unexpected part of the day was…

How spiritual and emotional the entire day felt. There were so many beautiful omens woven throughout it. Birds sang loudly during our vows as if nature itself was celebrating with us. After days of rain, the skies opened and sunlight poured through at exactly the right moments. Even strangers were moved by the love surrounding us and unexpectedly stopped to bless us throughout the day. It felt bigger than us in the most beautiful way.

When I look back now, I feel…

Like it was the most beautiful dream — one that was so true to us and somehow even more meaningful than we could have imagined. It felt timeless, emotional, and overflowing with love. Every detail reflected who we are, and that is what made it unforgettable.

My advice to new brides is…

Make space for your wedding to reflect who you truly are. Let go of the pressure to perform traditions that don’t feel meaningful to you. We cared far more about storytelling, connection, community, and heartfelt moments than forcing formalities we didn’t resonate with. We skipped things like a traditional first dance because it simply wasn’t important to us, and instead created room for the moments that were. We wanted it to feel like we were married in a friend’s backyard before gathering inside the villa for a beautiful formal family dinner. I’m so proud that we trusted ourselves enough to do what mattered most and let go of the rest.

My Homebodii moment was special because…

My Homebodii moment felt like the soft, celebratory beginning of the entire day. I wore the Peyton Short Slip and Short Lace Robe in Eggshell Blue, and putting it on felt symbolic in such a beautiful way. It was my “something blue,” but beyond that, it made me feel calm, feminine, soft, and completely present. There was something so special about starting the morning wrapped in something so timeless and beautiful while preparing to step into one of the most meaningful moments of my life. That lingerie feels steeped in memorable moments, that I long to wrap myself in every-time I step back into that slip. How special!
