Homebodii Bride of the Month: Georgia Rush
A little bit about me…
My name is Georgia Rush, and I was recently married at Sunnyside Events, Mount Eliza to the love of my life, Timothy Rush.
We met in mid-2022, and from the beginning, everything just felt right. After seven months of dating, we moved in together, and our lives began to intertwine in the most natural way. Then, on July 13th, 2024, during a walk with our dog Barney along the Sorrento back beach, Tim proposed. It was a quiet, meaningful moment that perfectly reflected us.
It was definitely a case of “when you know, you know.” Our love grew quickly and deeply, and we've embraced every step of the journey with confidence and joy.
Aside from wedding planning, I work in pharmacy procurement for a major Melbourne private hospital. I have also started an events stationery business with my friend called Create.Print.Love – as you can see, I love the wedding industry.
The most unexpected part of the day was…
The most unexpected part of the day was how calm and relaxed I felt. I had anticipated feeling overwhelmed, especially when it came time to read my vows. I was so nervous leading up to that moment, worrying I might stumble over my words or get too emotional. But when the time came, all of that melted away. Standing there, looking into Tim's eyes, I felt completely grounded. It was as if everything else faded, and I could just speak from the heart.
It was such a beautiful surprise to feel so present and at peace throughout the day.
When I look back on the day now I feel…
When I look back on the day now, I feel so grateful and genuinely pleased with how everything played out. One of the things I’m most thankful for is that we were able to capture every moment through photos and video. It’s true what people say, “the day goes by so fast, take in every moment.”
We also made a conscious decision to stay together throughout the night, which meant we got to share every part of the celebration side by side.
Being able to relive it all has been such a gift. Watching it back feels like stepping into our own romantic fairytale—I smile, laugh, and tear up every time. We honestly can’t thank our incredible photographer, Madeline Kate, and our talented videographer, Faz from Iconic Pictures, enough.
Funny enough, Tim wasn’t originally keen on having a videographer, and now he’s the first to say how glad he is that we did. It’s something we’ll treasure forever.
A word of advice to new brides would be...
Surround yourself with a team you trust, be open to accepting help, and remember to enjoy the wedding planning process. It’s easy to get caught up in the details or feel overwhelmed by everyone’s opinions, but the heart of it all is simple: you’re marrying the love of your life. Let that be your focus.
With the right support and mindset, the entire journey from planning to the big day can be joyful, meaningful, and stress-free. Trust your instincts, stay true to your vision, and don’t feel obligated to please everyone. This day is about you and your partner. Make it yours.
My Homebodii moment was special because I wore…
My Homebodii moment was truly special—it was the perfect blend of confidence, comfort, and celebration. I felt completely at ease, sipping champagne and dancing around the living room with my bridesmaids just moments before slipping into my Jane Hill gown.
I chose to wear the beautiful Emilie Pyjama Set. I absolutely loved the statement feather details. I also added personalised embroidery to make the set feel even more unique and special to me.
My bridesmaids were also lucky enough to be dressed in Homebodii, wearing the timeless Grace Lounge Pyjama Set. They felt so special, comfortable, and glamorous—exactly what I wanted for the morning of our wedding.
I truly believe the sets we chose complemented each other perfectly, creating such a beautiful and cohesive look. It was the ideal way to begin such an unforgettable day.
